Saghmosavank Monastery
Saghmosavank Monastery is located on the edge of the Kasakh river gorge in Aragatsotn Region. The main temple of the monastery is the Church of Zion (1215) founded by Prince Vache Vachutyan. It is a cross-winged domed church having two-floor annexes in all the corners of the building.
The monastery complex is home to a unique construction in Armenia that is built initially as a book repository. There is an altar apse on its eastern side, and its southeastern corner has two-floor annexes attached to it — a unique phenomenon in the structures of such purpose.
