Hiking Tour 8 Days from 392 EUR

 Day 1. Arrival in Yerevan. Transfer to hotel.Check-in assistance. City tour in Yerevan.

After little rest city tour in Yerevan located in the Ararat Valley, with most of the buildings having a view to the majestic Mount Ararat. Visit History Museum of Armenia to explore the pages of the ancient country and people. Drive to Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex and Museum of the Armenian Genocide, first genocide of the 20th century. Welcoming dinner in an Armenian traditional restaurant with dancing and live music. Walking in the evening Yerevan. Transfer to hotel (overnight in Yerevan).

 

Day 2.  Yerevan – Garni -Havuc Tar Monastery–Geghard – Sevan Lake

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Trip to Garni village and hiking tour to Havuc Tar Monastery (11th – 13th centuries) and return to Garni (the length of the way - 7,4 km, duration – 2-2,5 h). Lunch at peasant’s house. Visit Garni Pagan Temple (1401m/77 AD) and trip to Geghard Monastery ( 9th-14th centuries), that is half carved in the rock. Trip to Lake Sevan. Check-in, dinner with Armenian traditional food and overnight in Sevan.

 

Day 3. Sevan–Hiking to the top of Bear mount-Sevanavank-Sevan

After breakfast at the hotel, swimming and rest on the bank of Sevan lake which is one of the highest sweet water lakes in the world. Hiking to the top of Bear mountain range (2375m, heights overfall 470m, the length of the way to both ends - 3 km, 2,5-3 h). Fish lunch. Visit of peninsula and the Sevanavank Monastery Complex ( 9th century). Dinner and overnight at the hotel (overnight in Sevan).

 

Day 4. Sevan - Dilijan – Parz Lake – Goshavank – Ijevan –Yenokavan Village

Check-out and breakfast at the hotel and drive to Parz Lake (1300m) located in Dilijan National Park. The lake is carefully hidden in the mountains of Tavush as an unpolished diamond the overall combination of which creates a timeless image. Hiking from Lake Parz to Gosh village to visit the Goshavank Monastery (12th-13th century) that house one of the brightest example of a khachkar (cross-stone). Lunch at peasant’s house. Drive to Ijevan city and Yenokavan village, to ride horses at will (for additional pay) in “Apaga” recreational center. Dinner and overnight in the cottages (overnight in Yenokavan).

 

Day 5. Yenokavan–Lastiver Hiking-Yerevan

Breakfast and check-out. Hiking tour to Lastiver caves which were sacred places from pre-Christian times. From the caves a marvelous view opens. Descent to waterfalls (the length of the way – 6 km, 3-3,5 h) and lunch at waterfalls. Return to Yerevan and check-in. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Yerevan.

 

Day 6. Yerevan – KhorVirap – Noravank-Areni-Jermuk

Breakfast at the hotel after which we start our tour to the Region of Ararat to visit the Khor Virap Monastery (4th-18th centuries), which is significant for Armenian Pilgrims as a sight were the first Catholicos of the Armenians spent in torture for 13 years.  Continue the tour to the picturesque Region of Vayots Dzor where you will visit Noravank Monastery, the pearl of Armenian medieval architecture (10th-14th centuries). Lunch at a grotto restaurant. To enjoy the spirit of antiquity and the sheer rocks of the region, we will have a stop at the Chalcolithic cave of Areni where a six thousand-year-old winery has been found. Archeologists have unearthed the oldest wine-making facility, using biochemical techniques to identify a dry red vintage of the winery. Drive to Jermuk spa town in Vayots Dzor Region of Armenia.Check in and dinner (overnight in Jermuk).

 

Day 7. Jermuk Waterfall-Mineral Water Galleries-Off Road Jeeping tour (for additional pay)-Yerevan

After breakfast at the hotel, city tour in Jermuk spa town and walk to the Jermuk mineral waterfall the height of which is 68 meters, a true miracle of the Armenian Highland. Next visit water galleries that come out of several pipes with different natural temperatures and properties that accordingly cures different diseases. Lunch at a local restaurant. Drive back to Yerevan and stop at a local Areni wine factory to taste the flavor of the local wine and vodka. Check-in at the hotel (overnight in Yerevan).

 

Day 8. Departure.

Breakfast at hotel. Check-out. Transfer to the airport. Check-in assistance at the airport. Departure.
