Lake Parz
Lake Parz is situated in the Region of Tavush, to the east of Dilijan. The road is forestry taking 8 km up to the hill on a narrow path that ends at a green lake with slightly muddy banks, meanwhile, excellent for a picnic and forest hikes. The length of the lake is to 385 m and the width is of 85 m. The maximum depth - 5 m.
The Armenian word “Parz” is translated into English as “Clear”. For being hidden deep in the forest with a narrow path leading to it, it’s not always practical to visit the lake because of the weather.
As already said, the lake is located in the city of Dilijan and is embraced in a forest, which is enough to make the lake beautiful any time of the year, of course with some restrictions regarding the activities.
Some of the beautiful time to visit the lake is in fall time when trees are wearing colorful dresses and the lake is filled with red leaves and the water still not frozen. People can find their own interpretation of the magic and the mystery of the lake in autumn.
