Spitakavor Church is located in Aragatsotn Region. The church has overcome a number of attacks and historical obstacles, including attacks by Turkmen tribes. Accordingly, Spitakavor appears to be one of the special cultural and historical treasure of the region.

Spitakavor church is a basilica church built in 5th-6th cc. The excavations revealed traces of an earlier 5th century structure in the construction details. There is not a foundation inscription, but evidence indicating a date for the construction of the church includes the archaic T-shaped piers.

In 1815, the Church of Spitakavor was partially ruined. And during 1963-1964 were organized restoration works, which revealed walls, piers, arches, fragments of vaults and a cross-stone.
