Devil’s Bridge

Devil’s Bridge is a term applied to dozens of ancient bridges, found primarily in Europe. Most of these bridges are stone or masonry arch bridges and represent a significant technological achievement. Each of the Devil's Bridges has a corresponding Devil-related myth or folktale.

In Armenia the Devil's Bridge is situated at the bottom of the Tatev Monastery,500 meters deep in the gorge of the Vorotan River. This natural wonder has been formed through thousands of years by the of the continuous influences of water and wind that carved and shaped the frozen lava. The width of the natural bridge is 60 meters and the length – 30 meters. Hot waters of springs are spread not far from the bridge that are surrounded with amazing natural stalactites of different colours. Those courageous ones can descend into the gorge and enjoy all the beauty of the inner caves that boast in natural stalactites.
